It had only been a few weeks since Talonstar had last delivered a ceremony, she'd felt that Amberpaw had needed a little longer to readjust to Highclan life, and she wasn't quite as old as Solarstorm, Scarflower and Moonflare. But the Apprentice had reached twelve moons and Fawnheart has assured her that she was satisfied with the she-cat's training.
"All Cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around The Flatrock for a Clan meeting," in all honesty she never saw the point of this phrasing as Noisekit and Branchkit had scurried outside of the Nursery too to see what was going on. In many ways Talonstar was quite pleased that Jaywish was moving into the Nursery, it would ensure that the two kits weren't on their own anymore.

The moment everyone had gathered she beckoned Amberpaw forwards with her tail, "I, Talonstar, leader of Highclan, call upon my Warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior," she looked down at Amberpaw, fixing her with the same stern look she did when she addressed this speech to all Apprentices in their turn.
"Amberpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
Having seen the other Apprentices before her speak the words, there was no hesitation as Amberpaw nodded, "I do."
"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Amberpaw, from this moment you will be known as Amberleaf. StarClan honors your loyal and cheerful personality, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Highclan".
A chant went up from the clan, although Talonstar could hear Snaketail's voice chanting the loudest of all. Shiningwing who was sitting near the Medicine Cat's Den with Diamondbreeze and Hollowgaze didn't seem to be calling anything, but Talonstar let that drop, she wasn't going to have a go at him after all he'd done for the clan.
Nodding her head, she disappeared inside her den, hoping to catch a little sleep before organising the Evening Patrol."
