It wasn't true. It couldn't be true.

Dunelight stumbled slightly as she walked, her stomach still a little queasy from this morning. She'd woken up this morning to find her stomach rumbling in a distressed way, her paws were heavy and she felt shaky as she got up. Something wasn't quite right.
Her first intention had been to go and visit the Medicine Cat, but then everything about Deepstar called everybody's attention, Fleetingpaw was busy examining the Leader's body, as were two of the other Cats with medical knowledge, and while she considered looking for Noiseflame, sneaking off at such an important time seemed rather rude.

"Are you okay?" Ghostbreath whispered, her sister was sitting beside her, a worried look on her face, "You look a little shaky?" The pale she-cat blinked between her and the dead Leader, "Are you upset about Deepstar?"

Dunelight shook her head quickly, regretting it immediately as her stomach gave another lurch, but she wanted to reassure her sister, as she could already see Waspgaze turning to give her a considerate look as well.
"No... I mean it's sad Deepstar's dead, but no, I'm fine, just a little tired," and indeed that was true, her limbs did feel heavier than they normally would have done.

When Deepstar was officially declared dead, Burningdust gave a speech about taking on the position, named Fainthope his Deputy and declared that he was about to go out and claim his nine lives.
That was until Owlmoon stepped up to join him, which was what brought her to here, standing out on a ledge in the most dangerous part of Highclan's territory - barring the Eagle Nesting place.

Wolves? It didn't sound real, after all they'd never seen any creatures in the Territories by that name before. But if Starclan said they were coming, then they probably were.

She stumbled again, grateful that Stagfall - her sister's friend, reached out to grab her just in time before she lost her footing.

Dunelight thanked him, but moved off again quickly, she didn't want to risk anybody else asking what was wrong.
Really she shouldn't have been worried, but as she'd been leaving the Camp, she'd overheard Creekcloud and Cherrybloom discussing their pregnancies, one had mentioned to the other that she'd felt a bit sick in the mornings and often felt as if her legs were unable to support her weight. Oh Starclan... Then there was that night she spent with Roedeer in the caves.

No.

No it wasn't true. She was just sick or something like that, a stomach bug, something she ate.

Should she have checked with Fleetingpaw? Well she couldn't now, Fleetingpaw was with the group working on the lower half of the mountain. She'd have to hold herself together, go to the Medicine Cat when she next got the chance, just to hear what she already knew. She wasn't pregnant... was she?
Not my Assignment, just something for Dunelight, because I have a plan of Writing the Five Stages of Denial for her ^_^

Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
